Measure before buying devices
What it is about
Bad Wi-Fi is almost always answered with another device. A classic repeater halves the speed in the process and spreads a weak signal over more space.
We measure first where it is actually poor. Often a different position solves the problem on its own.
What we look at
- Where the router sits and what is shielding it
- Which channels are taken and what interferes
- Which devices sit still and could go on a cable
- Whether a second access point makes sense, and where
What usually comes with it
A separate guest network and an own network for devices that only need the internet. Both cost nothing extra and make the home network noticeably safer.
